Get creative and help us uncover Australia. You could win some terrific prizes – and you don’t even have to leave home to enter!

We are looking for photos of your unique and wonderful encounters with any aspect of Australian lifestyle and culture, taken in Australia, Singapore or anywhere else in the world – and the more offbeat and unusual, the better.

Perhaps you’ve seen Melbourne from a hot air balloon, watched sunset over Uluru, joined some Aussie friends for Australia Day celebrations in London or shared a solemn moment at the Anzac Day Dawn Service at Kranji here in Singapore … take a look around and you’ll find a bit of Australia in some of the most unexpected places. "14. Entrants agree to assign all rights, including but not limited to copyrights, in the entries submitted to the Australian High Commission, upon the submission of the entries. The Australian High Commission reserves the right to use all 40 shortlisted entries for exhibition, publicity and promotional purposes, including but not limited to the use of the images from the top 12 finalists in its annual calendar and use by its competition partners and sponsors, in any manner deemed fit without the payment of any fee to teh respective entrants."

Note that clause 14 clearly states that you'd have to assign ALL rights to the image, which essentially means that they'll hold copyright, publishing rights, imaging rights, rights to profit, etc.

I know that terms and conditions like this are part of a long withstanding argument, but here's a another side to it ....if you give up your all rights, you may not have any rights to publish and/or sell images that have been submitted.

So, just be wary.
