wow you are in luck... so far i don have much luck with those crimson sunbird.

anyway i think the 2nd 1 is too saturated and oversharpened.

wow !!! the redness is incredible!! :) good shot!!

Thanks Explorerz .Taken at SBG.
I look at my uncrop pictures again the colour is the same, I only adjust the brightness up a little, sharpening a little and removed the noise, all of my pictures I seldom adjust colour or contrast, don’t have PS, at different angle and lighting conditions the colour will turn out differently. ;)

nice pose on the 2nd shot! But do turn down the in-camera sharpening and saturation. The colors look somwhat unnatural. Camera sensors tend to overexpose the red channel more resulting in the more "unnatural" tint.

Thanks Scenar.
What do you think #1 sharpening and saturation, if it’s Ok, than what should I do. Please advice, both shots are the same setting.

the 2nd shot got a nice background tone, while the first one got a good birdy tone.
saturation and sharpness is pretty alright for #1, but will be even better if the halo on the wings ain't that obvious(not a big problem to me since it is not very obvious.)

The first one gets my vote for the colour and the bokeh, although I find the plant sticking out from the chest and tail of the sunbird somewhat distracting. A bit more space on the top may be better .. I think .. since the bird is looking up. Like the earlier comments, I find the colour of the second picture needs to be less saturated. Still, I like the bird's pose that you manage to catch. These are two good pictures, I don't even know if I can do something like this myself :)

Thumbs up for you  Keep shooting :)

Wait a minute please, now I try to upload crop untouch halo parts on the wings, and please advice on it.

Here's the Halo part of the wings, no touch up at all, only crop so that you can see what went wrong.
Thanks

Here's the #2. No touch up done just crop only. Please advice what went wrong when same setting on the camera and two different saturation. Thanks.

for the red saturation, i think it is like what scenar have said (i do face this sometimes especially on red colors)
as for the halo, it might be due to a few thing, could be in-camera sharpening, reflection cause by flash...
last but not least, it could be natural.

Thanks ExplorerZ. I'll take note on that.

Hehehe first time shooting birds, Ya agree 100% with you about plant sticking out from the chest and tail of the sunbird somewhat distracting, that's the only take and angle I have with five shots each, that's why I put up for comment. ;)

Hi scenar. I've look through your crimson sunbird and the red colour is the almost the same as my #2 shots. Please advice. :)

hi
some birds reflect flash light and their colour turn out different compare to nature light. Maybe this is what happens here?
But these are still great shots! :)

hi! ya, my red got killed off too. that's how I also realised the camera seems to blow the red channel. Esp obvious when viewing the RGB histogram, I found that turning down in-camera saturation as well was underexposing abt -2/3 stop (YMMV) seem to restore some detail, pulling it up using curves in photoshop then helped me get the correct exposure.

I didn't upload those though as I didn't like the bird's pose. terrible reds! ;p

Hope this helps!
