Errr...not familiar with patch, people tell me that i could actually download some software(patch) from canon sites onto my canon DSLR to improve the performance.....anyone tried and find extremely useful??

You must be talking about firmware upgrade.
It sure helps a lot to mention which canon DSLR model you have exactly so the brothers and sisters here who have the same model can help you.
