Pret is sandwich restaurant which is opening this coming Thursday in Singapore and it planned to expand a new outlet every quarterly.

Pret is well established and has pressence in UK, Hong Kong and US at this moment.

Subway has more than 10 stores in Singapore and planned to be the market leader in providing healthy and great variety of sandwiches.

So how many will go for subway than Pret ? That's a question we will soon know. :D

subway expanded very fast recently, with over 30 branches now

but then the quality dropped a bit...and the price also increased slightly...but still cheaper and healthier and tastier than other fast food outlets

At minimum $5 for a 1/2foot long subway, the price of these sandwhiches are so expensive! If I wanted healthy meals, I'd rather bring my own food.

LOL, maybe I belong to those older gen thinking, cant bring myself to pay the $$ for a sandwich/bread although I've wanted to try Subway ever since it opened, er how many yrs ago?..:bsmilie:

dunno y, i prefer macs to subway, cos subway i was eat like a mess... then i hate to choose this choose that... and further more... i hate the chips...

subway is good. but its expensive...........

make it cheaper and i will say 2 thumbs up.. now its 1 thumb up for subway

not just sandwich, but also include chip/cookies and drinks leh

$5 can buy a set meal in Mac or not? The tiny little mac burger not filling one compare to a 1/2 foot sandwich, so mac is even more expensive to me.

If you try make your own sandwich with similar ingredient like subway sandwich, $5 confirm not enough....look at the amount of meat and veggie inside.

Hee... My lunch sometimes consists of this:

Boiled chicken breast: $1.50/piece
Pasta boiled: $0.50
Vegetables boiled: $0.50
Olive oil dressing: $0.10
An apple: $0.50

A total of only $3 max. And there is no junk food like cookies and soft drinks.... I think is much more healthier than mac...

Sounded alittle like body building diet.

Perhaps you should just make do with

Boiled chicken breast minus the skin/ fat
Boil carrots

i always lunch in with subway sandwich.. just sandwich alone, costs less than $4, for tuna and cold cut trio .. prefer sandwich than rice/noodle based lunch. feel healthier as it is less oily..

i normally take lunch from subway at least twice a wk.. think it is the cheapest sandwich around , compared to cedele, delifrance ..

I think foot long subway might be slightly pricy, but for that price I get many "benefits":

1. I don't have to worry about waking up earlier to make sandwich
2. I don't have to have such a variety of fresh vegetables and sauces at home
3. Don't have to pre-cut everything beforehand or cut everything when making the sandwich
4. Everyday can choose different filling (different meat combinations, veggie pattie)
5. Freshly toasted bread and melted cheese on my meats

Sometimes you buy all the stuff and put at home, and you need to finish it before it goes bad. So even if you don't want to eat, also bo pian still must eat.

yah..that's why i say subway is more value-for-money compare to other fast food

just look at those ham they put in, they are not cheap if you buy from supermarket.

Yeah, subway is a good alternative to the other fast foods around - even better if you have a friend, can share a footlong and it'll be cheaper than getting individual 6-inchers.

Interesting that Pret-A-Manger will be arriving here - brings back memories of my days in London, eating sandwiches almost everyday for lunch...

i have pret in my campus. it's pretty decent stuff. better tasting than starbuck's sandwiches though at the same cost starbucks offers double the volume.

Hmm... Pret. Wondering if there are gonna any Prets in Clementi Central or Harbourfront.

If its cheaper and as healthy as Subway, it might be a good substitute for Subway.
