hi,

bought this from japan, its a puzzle, but instructions in japanese... dun understand a single word....

can anyone help to translate?

thanks a lot... :)

hey. i have this toy before. was in a magic trick set. but it belonged to the trash as i cant let the rubber band catch onto the notch.

 Nice toy !

Satayboi, is this a toy or a pulzze ? How to play ? Mount on hotshoe, press shutter and the thing shoots out ? Like some ninja dart ?

 no lah. you have to find a way to engage the hook onto the rubber band. but it is not easy because : 1. the rubber band is short. 2. the notch is sliced with a skew, causing the rubber band to have a tendency to slip of the notch.

so, the solution to this puzzle is to insert in, and then keep turning to let the rubber band firmly engage on the hook, but like what i said, it did not worked for me. then again, it was like 7 years ago when i touched this toy, so i might have done the wrong way.

edit: or maybe that even wasn't supposed to be the right solution?

hi,

i dun even know what is the aim of this toy....
also dun know how to do it...

care to explain what i am supposed to try to do? and how to do it?

can't remember how much i bought it liao... about $10 i think....

Probably a magic pencil?

The 1st line translates to,

(wooden made) Secrets of the Red Pencil.

1. there's a rubber band loop on the red pencil (A)

2. there's a hook cut into the pencil lead (B)

3. hold A and B as shown. slowly twist B such that you can feel that B gets hooked onto the rubber band on A

4. a pull (force) on B is created. slowly pull B out of A

5. as B is pulled out, the pressure builts up until B snaps back into A. (there's no rubber band at the inside of A)

hmm....... everything makes sense, except the "there's no rubber band" part, sort of spoils the seqence.

then you'll have to ask TS about it, that's what's written inside the last bracket of the manual.

ゴムひもはAの中にはありません。

maybe that's what makes the pencil so special.

thanks for the translation.... tried liao, still can't get it to work... xian... :(
there really is no rubber band inside the hollow tupe.... shine using a torchlight, it is empty inside....

wonder how it is going to snap the head back leh...
but japanese are really smart with this kind of gadget things......
got to try again when feeling free and patient

thanks again for helping....

no problem ... i'm guessing the rubber band is at the 'sides' of the inside  i'll check if any of my friends here have it, though i haven't really seen it :sweatsm:

will be an advantage if your Chinese language ability is good.

is the japanese language a word for word subsitution of chinese? partially? or no subsitution? so far, after watching so many shows, have this urge to at least understnad some of their words, esp in places where subtitles are not around.
