my opinion....on the gals....face direction correct...but why block the face of the other? ugly? i would go on an angle where I can capture both faces....juz my thot.. :)

thanks Matrixneo for ur comment, will try harder next time, because at that time,i wouldn't want to disturb her since she is so into it,spoil her art moment,if i move to the left, stuck the tree and some chinese tourist :)
What u think about other photos ? No comment ?
Still have trouble uploading the colour version. So for now, please c&c the photos above first ,please, thanks a lot for viewing.

Still noone comment anythingelse....Is it too boring :(

catchlights correct, i can't move to the right,i can't swim,i can't fly.
To the left i will only took her back, and have many things block the way.
Thanks Catchlight for ur comment.

I kinda feel that this falls more under a general WYSIWYG street photography. Is there a reason why you decided to put it into black and white? i think colours would have been just fine except maybe for the shilouette.

Let me share with u sth i learnt abt B&W. usually when you shoot in B&W, you need to ask yourself how wide the tonal range is. Like from the scale of 1-12, 1 being white and 12 being black. The more diverse the tonal range, the possibility of having a nicer B&W photo may be higher. More colours does not mean better tonality also. Eg. pastel green, blue, yellow, red. All have approximately same tonal range. Next thing you need to pay attention to is in the framing of your subject matter to best enhance the shot. If you are a heavy PS user. Then shoot to edit. But crop in camera as much as you can to your desired result. The world of black and white is actually very very wide with tonnes of things you can do. =) just keep exploring. Read up a little, ask more questions and practise. =) Hope this helps a little.
Good luck!

To Chris Lim : Excuse me,i'm super newbie so what is WYSIWYG ? Don't understand  Thanks for ur comment

what you shoot is what you get

This is a rather good point here. However, do note that capturing more details is always better if you're not adverse to post-processing. Details lost can never be regained in PPing, however details that are present can be eliminated later on should you wish to push the contrast more. You also get greater control in a PP program like PS. This is a good reason to shoot RAW, but if you prefer JPG, you should be setting the contrast to zero or -2, depending on system, to retain details.

Like what Chris mentioned, to create more drama in a BnW image, make good use of the full tonal range(include pure blacks, whites, and greys in between). Currently your images are a bit flat, but that's probably due to the conversion.

Thanks Stoned and Chris for your comment ,u guys teach me a lot.
But i a bit confuse  How can i know the tonal range when i shot ? Do i have yo see the colour in black and white ?

Street shooting may make some innocent bystanders squirm, walk away, turn their face or worse gets angry with you. So got to be discreet and polite and don't argue if your subject tell you off.

Maybe, landscape and nature shooting is safer.

Thanks Quest,i did experience those kinds of things, usually not much happen if i smile and be polite. But Singapore,i have some bad times with the old uncles, most of them are nice, but some of them, especially those who is together with his friends, like the kind of uncle stand in front of his store chit chat like that, when they see young boy carry big camera, they have negative feeling or something, even i just pass by them, they just give bad comment so loud like : "rich boy..." blah blah something or they look not right....,and when they drive, they think they own the road. On Friday, bad encounter, the tourist uncle near the Lion head (don't know that place call what ) saw me pass by,talk to his friend in CHinese, then talk to me in chinese i think about his service, when i say i'm not tourist then he say sthing like So u Singaporian ah,the laugh, then talk Chinese,i think to test me,when i wave,he and his friends laugh......:dunno: Very angry with him and his friends, nearly draw monopod out and crush him (kidding :bsmilie: ) I should learn Chinese then ?

U have any advise about B&W conversation, i use the Channel mixer but no matter how i adjust, look like they don't come out right.

got advise that i should try the sat and hue,so i tried.
