Australia online ETA problems

I've tried to apply for an ETA online twice, not on the same year, and everytime I've to go down to the Australia High commission to reapply the ETA.

What's the condition to apply successfully online or the application is only successful for ticketing agents ?

I just did mine with the travel agent... charged me $5.25 per visa and they print it out and give it to you on the spot

It's just a way to make $. The facility is just riding on the airline's reservation system and it's FOC.

What to do? We just bought air tix from the travel agent, no tours etc, so they have to make some money, I guess
