Window XP can not boot up

My PC can not boot up with error: NTLDR is missing....
I believe one file in C:\ is missing or corrupt, unfortunately, I didn't creat emergency disk for my PC, any idea how to recover? Thanks

Try downloading the file here to resolve the problem.

1. Check if the HDD is detected
2. See if there is any tumb drive or diskette is inserted, remove them
3. Run Winxp repair
4. If not, reformat and reinstall everything(make sure you have backup all your stuffs)

That's all I will do.

How do u run this file :-
1) Create a Boot Floppy Disk.
2) Copy the file to the Boot Floppy Disk.
3) Boot from the Disk.
4) At the command line, run the utility as follows :

A:\bcupdate.exe C: (Assuming C: is where Wins XP is installed)

it happened to my old old PC.

If yours is an old PC and the problem suddenly come up, it might be due some error when reading from your memory.

What I did is turn off the PC, take out the RAM. Clean the contact with pencil eraser, and plug it again. After that it can boot normally.

he only managed to backup some files.. i lost some data.. most games deleted and i had to reinstall and play all over again :angry: i'm quite fuming now.. esp that jagged alliance.. i already acquired so much stuffs :cry:

actually i had the same problem as the thread starter. couldnt boot up winxp, then cant even move my mouse or detect the cursor. suspect dio virus, not sure also. haiz.. so much for my games and collection :bsmilie:
