hi,

this is my 1st attempt to try take pic of bird using dslr (am 1st time dslr user..:embrass: )
apprecaite C & C for this pic, tks!!

Any bird shooters in here will tell you :

(a) There is camera shake
(b) Background too messy
(c) Tighter crop would have worked better

But taking into consideration this is your first time, I don't think you should post in the Critique's Corner and face the firing squad. You can get equal amount of advise in the "World of Nature" section... just my two cents.
 

background: change your point of view to one where there are less things making your bg cleaner.

a tighter crop of this picture would have worked better. can also try a portrait orientation to crop away most of the messy bg.

use a faster shutter speed (higher ISO) for less camera shake. A noisy image is better than a blur image.
 

im no good either, but i think a little more sharpening and contrast would make it better.

personally, critique corner has never been a non-newbie only corner. also, i believe that's not a practice decided when this was setup. you've got pretty good feedback didn't you?
