halo all frez:) , anyone willing to shared any 'TIPS' for Digital Life Canon Photo Marathon IV 2006 ? Coz this is my 1st time joining this competition, so i need some advise like wat item must i bring/prevent, any preparation before the competition etc.... specially those hu[old bird] been participated the competition before... thx... CHEERS:D

Bring spare battery.
Bring spare memory card.
Bring travelling $$.
Sleep enough.
Drink enough.
Eat enough.

i think most importantly, enjoy the whole event.

best advice! :)

just to add - shoot with frens to double the fun. very lonely if u are doing it alone. dat is, if ur motive of going is to have fun. if u are going there to win something, then shoot alone.

Bring Panadol :)

Tips:

1) Bring a Laptop, to view the photos. Can't trust your 1.8" or 2.0" or 2.5" or even 3" LCD.
2) An OSIM handheld messager.First AID kit.
3) Rent a vehicle - a car, motocycle or bicycle. Generous CS pls rent a mini bus to ferry.
4) If using Public transport - top up your Translink Card.
5) Name of the Competition will be change to Canon Amazing Photo Race!?!

Hehehe..

bring camera..

enjoy and have fun. winning is secondary.

I think the most important thing besides equipment is that you shoot on your own, but possibly share transportantion fees, or cut down the costs with a few friends

Don't know if Nikonians are welcomed...

only canon photographer and cam allow???:dunno:

be creative!

heh.. of course they are welcome mah.. anything to try and tempt them to the right side what..

YES! be creative... think out of the box...no need to travel far far to take yr shot.
From last year experience. be creative you can create yr shot, no need to spend too much time to search for your shot.

Its going to be very tiring expecially when there are 4 topics this year. The bottom of it, enjoy with yr fellow frens to get the best shots..

 ...

:bsmilie: RIGHT SIDE!

Becareful of a flame war here...

I just want to add that, don't forget that you can also bring along a few friends who can be useful if you want set up a scene or something in case you think it'll fit the theme...

Get people/animals to pose for u, eg. a friend, old man, young kids, some biker dudes, tortise, pigeons, etc.

be creative and out of the box in interpreting the theme..they are not looking for technically perfect photos..

Watch your time, or you'll find yourself rushing through the day..... Take a few moments to digest the theme before heading out, that'll at least give you a decent headstart in what you are looking for. Or else you'll look like a headless chicken, don't know where to go.....or shoot:bsmilie:

Most importantly, have fun!

i went to their "briefing" last sunday, organizer said all digital cameras are welcome except handphone camera.

now i wondering, basecamp is at suntec convention hall.
3hr per assignment.
org. adviced to go far away from suntec.
travelling time est. to and back = 1hr to 1 1/2hr.
time to upload your photo (expect alot of perticipent) 15min.
time to think about the theme and to shoot = 1hr 45min to 1hr 15min.
