subject to me is quite uninteresting..
or rather a tighter crop n closer in? Some good close marco IMO looks better..
Too much empty space in the pic, my first glance is looking at the DOF behind, very distracting.

i would have gone for a portrait frame instead.
cropping away the empty space at the sides.
also more DOF is needed
and maybe fill flash

do keep in mind the bg as well
