Actually lookin at fitness and outdoor. Still can't decide which is better.

Polar is great stuff! I bought a RS100 in July this year too. I got it at about $219 if i didn't remember wrongly.

The RS200sd which has the capability to measure distance ran is in the region of $400 plus.

Thanks all for the recommendation. I end up buying the Polar F11. Original price was $313 but there was a promotion of 15%. So total damage is about $270. So now it is time to keep fit.

do you like the RS200sd? Thinking of buying it to see how far I am running. Is the footpad comfortable? Is the distance measured accurate?

got a quote of $492 for RS200sd. good price?

Skip those funny distance measurement accessories if you can. If you really want to, I believe Suunto has GPS enabled measurement devices - which do have their variances in accuracy.

Actually I didn't notice the 15% discount. After walking from Funan to City Hall to Marina Square to Suntec City, I decided to buy at the New Balance Shop in Suntec. I just told the sale lady that I wanted the F11 and she took it out. Then she said that there was a promotion. I believe it was for an event which the runners were given a discount of 15% but I guess she just offered it to me.

I use the S625X which has the same footpod as the one that comes with the RS200sd. The footpod looks big but once you have it on your shoe you can't tell its there. So its comfortable as wearing nothing.

Its accurate as well. The first time I calibrated, it was + - 3-5% of the actual distance (ran with GPS to compare). Tried to check again this year since my speed has improved, and it was still within 3% of the GPS. Before you think about buying one with GPS measurement device, check out the place that you run first. GPS are notoriously dodgy when there are trees or if you run in the city with a lot of tall buildings. (Maybe the new GArmin ForeRUnner s have a better GPS reception though, but never tested)

If you're crazy about it. Polar just released the RS400 and RS800. I think they should be beyond the budget of almost everyone except the pros.

just bought the RS200sd for $422 from queensway shopping center. Later go and calibrate

True. And it also remind you if you did not keep to your target. It also has a website which you can input the info so that you can track your training outcome.
