Re: is there fake WPDC34?
There is no 'Fake' WP-DC 34 housing for Canon G11... but there are 3rd party solution...
You can try Ikelite housing... but better prepare for the pricing...

The 'Blue' ones are a 3rd party casing from Fun-In... a Taiwan based company... as far as I know... they have the casing for G12... not so sure about G11.

hahaha... 1st time Underwater Camera User ??
Sadly... most 3rd party housing are really better than Canon's OEM housing... the current Canon's OEM G10-G12 Housing isn't that well made... alot of divers complaint random flooding and fogging... seen it happen with my friend's... one using G12 (Drown his camera 3 times)... the other using G11.
If you have the $$$$... Ikelite is good... but cost as much as the camera...

Regarding Ikelite housing, i have an Ikelite housing in the storage, and somehow the front port can loose or broke from the main housing (no drop no damage can be seen), really disppointed, was planning a dive end of the year. Scubacam, said need to ship back to Ikelite for repair etc.
Anyone experience with Ikelite, and what the cost of such a procedure? Warrany period is for sure over.

If you are using a older 2 Lock System housing...
Ikelite could change it to the new 4 Lock System housing with hotshoe (and pressure testing) for $200 USD, excluding Shipping... With
ScubaCam... I have no idea how much they will charge you... sorry.
As for 'possiblility' (and its just a guess) why your housing is damaged... as like all 'Plastic' product... Acrylic will degrade overtime when exposed to UV Light (aka, direct Sunlight)... which is why most suggest keeping your casing away from sunlight during storage... but again, I'm just guessing here.

It is not a DSLR housing, and i know port not the right word, but its for a canon powershot compact, but the black barrel where the lens will extend, i call it "port"
No sunlight exposure, and just kept with silicon and foam box, in the cupboard. Havnt been diving abt 1-2years and decided to take it out one day to inspect for possible future dive, the black barrel just came off. Looks like it had some kinda fracture internally.
Disappointed and thinking twice on Ikelite now.
