Post 5D4N Trip to Kota Kinabalu: Need Advice/Suggestion

I am going KK in Mid Sep.

Any suggestions where to take good shots or not to miss shots.

These are the places I will be going: Mari-Mari village, Mt Kinabalu (day tour), hot spring, Manukan island, River cruise etc.

I am bringing Canon 550D with 18-55mm and 55-250mm IS II lens

You can try going to the Tip of Borneo for a shot. Time it for sunrise would be ideal but needs an effort.

The islands, in particular, are very nice. Better still if you could stay overnight at one of the resorts for the sunset and sunrise.

City area: The clock tower, Bukit Bendera (few minutes from the clock tower, can oversee town area, sunset is nice but don't go alone at night), the piers area for sunset shot, and also Filipino market.

Tip of Borneo is 3 hours drive from the town. Better to stay around there if you want to catch the sunrise.

    River cruise at which area?

Thanks Vince. Is there any low cost resort in the islands.

Hope the TS has returned from KK.
    How is the trip?
I am planning a trip to mount KK, just wondering to bring Xpan, RF or DSLR for trip?
    Any tips?

Ask yourself: "How fit are you?". Can you endure walking upslope and stairs for 5 hours?
How much time do you have to train if you are not fit?

HAve a nice time on Mt Kinabalu. Many people have enjoyed themselves. It makes for a good introduction to middle altitudes.

Have a good time. KK is a nice town if you find time to explore a little.
