Anyone wants to share some E6 chemicals?

Anyone wish to get glass measuring cylinders for measuring the amount of chemicals to pour out accurately? I suppose using 1 cylinder for each chemical is a better choice as it reduces cross contamination if the cylinder is not washed well. I asked a quotation from a lab supplier. If anyone wants to buy together, I hope we can get better price since they sell in lots of 10.

For those using the Jobo developing tank 2820. I figured we need
5 x 100ml (for all the chemicals) Cost: 15*5= 75
1x 25ml (for conditioner) Cost= 14
1x 250ml (for topping up of water) Cost = 23

Total cost + GST = $119.84

i hope this will be useful. Losheng has mentioned as long as 4 persons are interested, he will order the chemicals, and each person will get one portion. i was confused on what one person will get. but o managed to find a post by losheng..

Lo Sheng, you got the data for the stabilizer content? I might consider using it as replacement for wetting agent. I know formaldehyde isn't inside already, but I am thinking, it might still be useful if there is a replacement chemical inside for it.

*Note: Conditioner is also what some of us call a Pre-Bleach

I haven't come across any mention of the exact chemical composition of the C6R stabilizer. But I do believe that it is just a mere wetting agent - one that seems to be better than Ilford's offering. The traditional dye stabilization treatment seemed to be part of the conditioning step in the newer E6 process. Both Fuji and Kodak's documentation mentioned that the new stabilizers can only be used in conjunction with the newer conditioners, and I guess this is the exact reason.

The published MSDS should have it, but need to know the exact product of the C6R stabilizer. I do believe that it is still the same old wetting agent with some modification. Anyway the old stabilizer isn't just normal wetting agent. They are good as they have anti-fungus inside as compared to wetting agent. But heavy usage tends to be a bit more straining on the pocket. But I guess there pose danger of exposing the old stabilizer in the open and causing danger gas to produce which is why there is a modification. It will be a better wetting agent provided the modification still has the anti-fungus effect, which is why I am interested in the compound.

I checked the MSDS, it states non-ionic surfactant 5%. Rest is water. If it is some industry secret, they will not release the exact formula.

Wah lao, Vege Bird planning to go back staying low under radar 1 lea. Anyway that demo is with Sweat100, so you can ask him or losheng for advice on anything related to E6. My batch of chemical slightly differs from losheng batch when I am looking at his. While the developing is still the same, the mixing is different. It is better to get losheng stuff as I am not planning to bring in anymore and what I have is currently more than enough for my personal usage. As the mixture is different, I suspect that losheng is of a better and maybe newer set. Even his stabilizer is different from the older batch chemically. (Suspect only oh, not much concrete proof) Also, whatever I know that I started off from banging walls, they can explain better than me. (I am lousy in explaining and english)

Also, I will order an additional carton of Color Developers, so that its' easier to split the lot (I will explain the reason below). So the total cost of a batch split four ways comes up to about $320 or so. There's one fellow CS member interested - do we have 3 more to split the lot? Drop me a pm and reply to the thread. If you are willing to take the entire lot all by yourself - let me know too - you can pick up the whole lot directly from the warehouse within a few days.

This makes the splitting very troublesome, as each will get approximately 2.3l of Part A and Part B each. That means 2 of the 4 persons need to bring their own bottles. Getting another carton means everyone will get 1x4.63l of Part A and Part B each, and there's no need to do the messy rebottling (that stained the pool table in my office).

Is that a 3 step or 6 step process? For the latter, I've learnt that over active reversal bath adds blue. So you can try increasing the concentration. For the former, old timers told me that high temperature adds warmth and low temperature adds blue (kind of like humans, eh? :-) ) - so you may want to try lowering the development temperature a little to see if that fix the problem. If you need control strips, I still have a packet.

Lunch is way overdue indeed. It cannot be done without beer then. If the Germans can start the day with beer, surely beer during lunchtime is totally acceptable.

Alright guys, I've just gotten a new carton of Color Developers Part A and B. Just wondering if there's anyone that's eager to get their hands dirty with E6? Or any of you guys from the previous batch needs replenishment? If anyone wants just 1L of everything for a quick trial, I can rebottle the chemicals for you too, but it will cost a little bit more due to the cost of the bottles.

I have done quite a number of trials and settled on some tweaks based on the recommended processing time and dilution. When you are ready to get your hands dirty, I'm more than happy to let you know my tweaks!
