[pinholecam] Exploring Candid and Streets
Firstly, apologies that some of the pictures have already appeared as part of a thread. That being the case, I'm limiting myself to 4 pictures and add on as I take fresh ones. I've certainly been inspired by the many good photos here. At the moment I seem to be in the 'gear' stage, still exploring what can be done for candids with different focal lengths and apertures. Still a long way to go in terms of composition and capturing unique viewpoints, so CC is very welcome.

Re: [pinholecam] Exploring Candid and Streets
Been some time since I've managed to take photos along Orchard Rd.
Found about an hour 'time off' and made my way to this local Mecca for people shooting.
I wanted to try shooting relationships (actual and perceived). Affectionate and platonic.
Its just that curiosity when you walk about looking at interactions and body language between people. How are they related? Are they a couple? Sisters? Best Friends?
Comments are welcome.

Thanks for the kind words.
Was there a post in between? I don't seem to see it?
Yes, I get the 'movie/Tv" feel to it as well. Maybe its the checkered shirt, lighting and the 2 good looking ppl.

Had a chance to explore a night market in Malaysia. As I traveled light, I had only a UWA and normal prime with me. Opted for the UWA for wider shots this time to explore chest level 'sneak' shots.
As usual CC welcome.

These places are so different for our over sanitized and commercialized versions. So many things are self prepared and many are simple fare. Its such things that brings up life and character to night markets that is a world apart from what we have here.

Re: [pinholecam] Exploring Candid and Streets
Back to Orchard Rd this week.
Last week was a bit of a contrast to Orchard Rd. The Pasar Malam was simple, dim and warmly lit with the tungsten lights.
Orchard seems cool in contrast. Rich and sophisticated.
Maybe its the very short amount of time I am spending on the site, doing the shots (usually 1hr). I just find that I have become technically competent to get the shots, but I am nowhere in terms of 'effect'. Or maybe I just lack the wit and humor to see the potential of 'witty' shots that I see and admire posted in this sub-forum....
As usual CC welcome. Esp. with regards to training for an 'eye' for street shots.

Waiting.... and waiting.....

This guy seems to go around in the same attire. Spotted him again on Monday. Same pose, same attire. The quikyness of making a photographic record of ppl in a place. You actually start to remember a few places out of 4 million ppl on this red.dot

First one really grabs me. I like how the boy is in the centre of the frame while his father (?) is cut off. All the more impressive since you were doing this "sneak" style.

Orchard Rd - People that just catches my eye.
Well, standing in the middle of the street looking out for people to photograph, calls for some selection; intentional or instinctive. Certain faces, dressing, style, looks, etc that stands out from the crowd. That certainly includes beautiful people.

This lady just had a beauty and style with her. She had a large juggernaut of a bodyguard too.... (of course I left the ogre out of the photo
)

a sort of flair...

Young, with that Jap cuteness

Dressed for the occasion

So well dressed on a weekend out. I often wish I had the resilience to the tropical heat to do this
The 'tech' guy

Well, just need a simple T-shirt if you are enclosed in your own world with these cool headphones.
So is the guy holding a large camera standing on the street taking this photo
The always eye catching hairstyle

Always stands out from the crowd.
