1. it's shaped and sized like a traditional camera, not the gorilla-sized bodies that all the AF cameras took on after it.
2. it has a great 100% viewfinder
3. High Eye Point is fantastic for someone wearing glasses to see the full frame
4. it uses dials, no confusing multi-level LCD menus
5. Great H screens for low-light focusing
6. makes me look like a better photographer than I really am
7. 80-20% metering provides a good balance between spot and center-weighted
I like the FM2 for the mechanical puristic appeal. But I like the F3 even more!

Gotta use the ugly thing u attach onto the film rewind area. The camera is a real beauty, but I'm glad I didn't buy it(I almost did)

Agree 100%, using a flash on the F3 is really a pain in the A**
For situation that requires flash, I use the Oly Om2n+flash instead. The automatic flash function from Oly is a wonderful feature!
Otherwise the F3 is a great camera, tough as a brick too.

Re: Nikon SLR
Don't carry a F3 anymore compared to last time.
I am using the F501 with 35mm F2 AFD again.
The F601 QD with the 85mm F1.8 AF.
Age is catching up, AF and AE helps too much.
MF Film user. Nikon D800 works too.

Re: Nikon SLR
I just buy back a Nikon F501 for old time's sake.
I find the F501 a more usable camera than the FM series (built in motor, AF).
I still have the Tamron 90mm macro. Shoot macro sometime??
