i got mine from OP and then sent it into sigma for calibration so no worries on front / back focusing issues there!

Re: Sigma 50mm f1.4 - new batch = outstanding performer
Hi to all senior brother and sister,
Newbie here would like some advice on filter to buy to fix on this Sigma 50m 1.4 ???
Currently 1 shop quote me the Kenko with $105, but another quote $70 for hoya.
Don't know which 1 to choose.
Not much detail for hoya, but the Kenko is scratch proof.
Thanks in advance.

i think a Hoya UV HMC should be good enough. There's always 2 camps on this... IMHO, i'd rather go filter-less. If worried about scratching or damaging the front element of the lens, just keep your lens hood on!

Re: Sigma 50mm f1.4 - new batch = outstanding performer
Hi
Just now I called to sigma service center,
They say for those not cover under warranty they will charge S$80 for normally checking on focusing issue,
For calibration they will charge S$150
Why so expensive !

Which shop is this? 77mm Kenko protector I think I bought from TK only for like $70 or 80 thereabouts. What kind of filter are you talking about?

WOW !. Sigma's calibration service for grey sets seems to have increased from $80 to $150 by this account.

I must tell you guys some lens with problem after recalibrating, not much diff, not worth at all, so if you got a lousy copy, good luck!
