Anyone who had bought any of the 2 lenses, care to share your user experience?
Thank you.

Re: Sigma 24-70 f/2.8 EX DG or Sigma 28-70 f/2.8 EX DG
just got the 24-70 a couple of days ago. its a huge lens!
zoom ring very stiff to turn and the weird thing is, it zooms the other way round. with the lens extended, its 24mm. so takes awhile in gettin used to it.
another thing i dun like about this lens is the zoom ring is small and near to body. once set to AF, you hardly touch the focus ring which is where most lenses zoom ring is. i wonder y Sigma designed it this way.
got it online so didnt have the chance to test it before purchase.
as all says, focus alittle slow. havent really taken any shots with it yet. been busy.
What i need is the skill and vision of a pro... not a pro camera!

I have the 24-70. Mounted on 40D. Focus speed can match L lens. Quality is acceptable with stop down (smaller aperture). The DOF is much shallower than it suppose to be (as compare to other lens...don't knwo why).

I had the lens for a year now and the zoom loosens up with use, so its not that bad (either that or my fingers got stronger
) The 'zoom out at 24mm' is not exactly unique, the 24-70L also extends in length @ 24mm. But yeah, strange that the zoom ring is not the meaty part of the lens, since most of us will zoom more often than manually focus I'd suspect

unless you really need the 24-27mm, i'd say take the 28-70mm. and while you're at it, do consider the tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 SP Di too.
