Default Cost of Calibration for Tamron lens?

I bought a pre-owned Tamron without warranty. The zoom ring is very stiff and it seems that its soft all the way till 5.6 then it gets acceptable sometimes, must shoot at f/8 to be sharp. Also the focal length readings by the camera is stuck at either 32mm or 42mm even though the camera is zoomed at other focal lengths. Exposure in controlled settings is also very weird, like f/2.8 and f/4 only about 1/3 stop different, as in f/2.8 is 2/3 stops darker than it should be, even at the center so its not the vignetting. Exposure in uncontrolled settings in matrix mode had been wonky too.

Wonder how much it is to calibrate or repair the lens nowadays?

    Quite sad
My equipment a lot! A lot ahh!!

I think it is a lot more wrong with the lens than just calibration issue. I suggest either you bring it to Tamron SC or perhaps contact bro fatigue and see if he can help.

    Min is $150.
And if they spore distributor can't do it got to ship to Japan n it cost around $350.

I bought a 70-200f2.8 n it got serious back focus.
No more warranty n spore estimate $350 n need to send to Japan.
Since I always fly to Japan
I bought the lens to tamron dealer in Japan for repair n IG cost me $150. N i Save $200

Hmm, weird coz its SGD160 with GST to be fixed in Japan turnabout time 3 to 4 weeks.

Maybe yours is the 70-200 more expensive to fix.
