Was kinda amazed by the photo comparison too.. Apparently yea.. in terms of IQ it come very close..and just for this (lets not say other features..). Price differences of $2000 is just alittle crazy..unless you have load of cash..

But end of the day.. Most people will still buy the Nikon..because its Nikon likewise for other brand.
    lol..

Must say the third parties are really not so bad after all..at least..their price can be very attractive. And produce results everybody need. (wont say the same for want thought.)

    My bets is with them:

I shall test theirs when they acquire a Nikon copy.

Well, like I said, IQ is not everything also. The Nikon one is really really very good at focus acquisition even in low light. So in the end, one has to gauge their own needs and ROI.

Price is over $1.5k... at that price might as well just go for the Nikon or Canon.

    Nikon 24-70 don have VR
And it also don have not so sharp corner... jus my 2 cent... though i didnt see the comparison of the tamron vs nikon pic.... but interm of corner to corner sharpness i believe nikon still win...
but if u are talking bout Tamron 28-75 vs nikon 24-70... center sharpness both works well for me but at the corner... nikon is the winner hands down.
As for me i sold off my 24-70 cos i don really use tt range alot, and bought the tamron 28-75 for jus incase in need that range.

Nikon is 2.5k, Tamron 24-70 is 1.5k. Not half.. That is if you buy the Nikon in Singapore. If you buy the Nikon in in HK or Malaysia, you pay 2.2k to 2.3k and still enjoy full international warranty.

So no, it is not half.

Just brought this len over at hong kong as canon mk1 is totally out of stock and those with stock are selling at cut throat price. Anyway, this lens is also out of stock at most places but managed to grab one at decent price. Just to share some random photos taken for those interested.

    24mm f2.8

    53mm f4.0

From my short usage would say it is very well build and is very sharp in the centre and improved when stop down. Color is also well saturated and balanced. The best feature is the VC which really helped when I take short footage and long exposure handheld. From my non scientific testing, its sharpenss seems to match canon 50mm f1.4 @ f2.8. Make a guess which is which.
