Thanks for your input bro, I think a second hand copy of the 70-200 2.8 IS Mk I is what I will get. Since the QC at Sigma is not so fantastic (though I hear it is improving) and the value of third party lenses also depreciate pretty fast.

Hi,
I just got my Sigma 70-200 HSM version from Aust at S$ 760 incl shipping. And 1 yr of Intl warranty. Use it on my Pentax k5 .

Not the OS version is it? Still cheap... the OS Version the panning mode OS is very good though...
From June 2010 onwards, i'm a Pentaxian again... after 5yrs. From the K-7 to presently K-5.

Sigma ver1 and ver2 with OS is miles apart and should not be confused with each other. Most -ve comments read online are for ver1.
The newer OS model has been getting rave reviews..
