    Default External Flash?

    Yes,intending to get external flash for personal and future usage.
    I'm confuse to get either SB 600 or SB 700.
    What are the pros and cons on this two ?

    Using D5000 w Kit Lens

    is nissin good compared to SB ext flash ? what are the pros and cons on 3rd party NISSIN and original brand SB

    BL mode. Don't think it is available in nissin 622. If buy 866 might as well get sb700.

    866 is more powerful than sb700. But always get original flash whenever possible... at times the WB might be off when using a 3rd party flash

    You may want to read up about the Guide Number and the relation to aperture, distance and ISO. It's the basics that was taught for many years before TTL flash came into use.

    not really the WB, but rather the temperature of the flash may varies from shots to shots.

    strictly between the 2, sb700 is the successor of sb600, meaning that sb600 is eol. sb700 has better function and features over sb600.

    if budget allows go for sb700.
