How is it that when I use my Canon 20mm on my D30, what I see in the viewfinder is not what I get? The captured picture has much more on on right side, whereas on the left it captures exactly what I see in the viewfinder. This also sometimes happen when I use my 100mm macro lens.

good and bad lah, as u have found out by now. good thing - a 'short' lens becomes a 'tele' lens on a DSLR (ur 200mm ~ 320mm). bad thing - u lose out on WA lens. (16mm ~ 25.6mm). ie - its very troublesome if u want to take those sweeping landscape shots.

I can understand that it is not 100% viewfinder coverage and the cropping, but how is it that the 'extra' that is being capture appears on the right for horizontal shots and on the top for vertical shots? How is it that they are not balance both for left and right?
