    Default Converting *.psd to *JPEG

I have a question for anyone that might be able to help.

I was attempting to stitch a few RAW images together. Started off with 6 x 18mp RAW images. Ran the whole thing through CS4 -> automate -> photomerge.
Came up with a nice looking file where the borders were merged rather nicely.
Noticed that the program only allowed me to save in *.TIF or *.PSB
I saved a copy of both, but noticed that the file was now 900mb and 600mb respectively !!
At any rate, now i cant open the *.psb file with anything except CS4. And even after opening it does not give an option to convert to JPEG.

    Can anyone help ??

On a sub-note, i tried converting the RAW to JPEG first, then merge as above.
The borders were very obvious even though exposure was the same.
DOes anyone have any suggestions ??

    Thanks in advance

Sounds like you have settings active that are incompatible with jpeg. Could be layers (flatten image) or could be that you working with 16bit and not 8bit (convert to 8 bit)

    "PSD" file ?

In CS4, File>Save as..> then choose jpeg as the format. Flatten the layers.
