Heron or Bittern?

Anyone able to ID this bird? Sorry for the blury pics as this guy was really far away and it keeps flying away when I try to go near.

I cannot confirm also. The Chinese Pond Heron in my book seems to have a very short neck like the Little Heron.

Trust me...their necks can really stretch. Remember those shots of the little heron going into a mud hole for lobsters ?

But they will not stretch all the time right? This guy that we saw is like so natural and not stretching at all
