Default How to wash your camera bag?

How to wash your camera bag?
    How?

After sometime, it sure gets brown & stinky...
With the thick paddings, can just throw into the washing machine?
    Advisable to use washing powder?

    Or no one washes here?

i have never put one in a washing machine. unless it is very dirty and smelly, but note the manufacturer's instructions on washing, if any.

Otherwise, wipe down with solution of water and mild detergent and sun dry. regular preventive maintenance.

I clean with cloth, wipe it and leave it to dry, dunking the whole thing into water will spoil the padding.

If dirty, just clean it with a damp cloth. If smelly, spray parfume!

if u clean the bag and never got it properly dry and u have all your gears in it...good luck, fungus would start to grow because of higher moisture.

next, properly dry out a bag 99%...is very tough in principle, because of higher humidity and once water got trap into the fibrics...surface energy, wetting theory, etcetc, it wouldn't want to get out easily...unless u oven or burn it..

    so, better don't wash.

    Ahhh...
Just finished washing my 3 bags.
Washing machine too small, so hand washed.
    Soaked totally in soap water.
Dried totally under the morning sun...
    Now as good as new..

Be careful though, after some use, the threads are not as binding as the new 1s. Can see some wear & tear.
