Hi guys... more pics to share with all. This was a daytime wedding affair at the Singapore Arts Museum. No dinner... I've added some commentaries where appropriate. Do hope its helps. Cheers!
The start of the day... I shot this without flash...at a slow enough speed to capture the movements in the makeup artist's hands. Shots like these are possible during the makeup sessions where the bride usually keep very still. Personally... I like the rich colors and the show of movement here... it helps that the makeup artist was smiling too... if she hadnt the pic wouldnt have been as good IMHO. Another of those "moving" shot which was captured... I enjoy taking shots like these and it has become a standard fare for the couples I have shot for. The moment the guests/sisters arrive is always a moment with generous smiles and warm expressions. Excellent moment to capture... I tried making full use of the diagonal length of the frame for this shot... a long flowey trail is what most brides dream of... why not take a shot if possible? ![]() Last edited by iamasaint; 2nd November 2004 at 10:07 PM. |

Kids.... an integral part of any wedding if you ask me. a series of wedding pics somehow doesnt feel "comlete" without them. I usually try my best to get them at their most candid moments or when they make monkey faces at me...trust me they dun need much prodding for that! Hahaha Also...its not too sharp but for shots like this when you are capturing the "moment" I belive you can compromise on that and go for the shot instead. Also...in black and white and a little burred, it helps to potray the "journalistic" approach.
I like this shot personally... I felt a connection with the little boy in the lift when all else were serious... his smile was sudden and very rewarding. If you have noticed... I try taking potraits with some one else in the background. It helps to "balance" up the pic and break from the monotony of a single subject potrait shot... ![]() Last edited by iamasaint; 2nd November 2004 at 10:12 PM. |

This was taken at a staircase landing...I was a few steps down and shot this against the sky... thought it was unique...
I'm a little unsure abt this shot tho... might be a little too much distraction... I liked it when I shot it tho... I didnt place the flowers there! =) Hahah... sometimes...things DO look better from an ants point of view... A posed shot...unfortunately some might say... not in the true spirit of photo journalism eh? Added a glow through PS and darkened the rest of the image... ![]() |

These closeup shots of the bride is a standard fare... from experience...all brides would love a shot like that of them as long as it is not unflattering...
I adjusted the hues and curves to get the skin tone I wanted... I normally do not shoot a bride laughing with mouth open head on. But in this case...with such white sparkly teeth I figured I could get away with it. The pic has a glowy bright and cheery feel to it...doesnt it? .... The older generation interacting with the younger... always good to shoot. ![]() |

Needless for me to say, it's again photos contributed by a pro! Good work Kelvin!
I particularly like the one with the 2 kids in colour. Very well exposed, mood is very well captured, and background is very nicely complimented with another grinning kid. How I hope I can be like you one day... |

another great work from you. You should conduct lesson for us.
I really like the high & low angle you apply in your photos. Can you let us compare the pre and post-processing photos. I would like to see the differences in them because the photos your posted are super sharp. Could it be the Canon lens you using ? Great work ! |

all i can say is wow... the food looks great... but just a thot... is there a default setting you use when just 'walking' ard? as in when looking for candid shots... as candid shots sometimes (or most of the times) happen in even mili-sec... (ok i was exagerating... few seconds..) ... any way you need a PA too? hee..
