Default image stabilizer off when using tripod?

hi,

just like to find out if using a tripod for the FZ20,
do you set the stablizer to 1, 2 or off?

According to the following website's info:

we should turn it off when using tripod.

(Check the middle right part about the image stabilizer details).

Yes, it must be set to "off". However it really depends on the speed setting you are using. For a long exposure tripod shot, you have to set it to "off". For a high speed long zoom shot, it doesn't really matter.

Setting the image stabiliser off helps to reduce heat build-up. Heat build-up is one of the causes of image noise. Good idea.

Are you referring to hot pixel?

using mode2 I don't think will cause too much heat right? best is too trun off the camera when not in use during night shot...I read this in one of our old tread some time back but can't remember who make the post ...hmm
