Travel light. You might want to drag along a mono-pod, depend on you.
Water bottle to hydrate your self & Rain Gear in case of rain.
I highly recommend poncho, it's able to cover my backpack, equipments & myself. i could use it to wrap up equipments in backpack to further water proof them.
no trouble maker, no harassment of beach goers.
If anyone asked us not to take pix of them, we should respect that.
at the same time we will practice approaching & asking ppl to pose for us.
The reflection from the water would be a challenge especially when the sun is setting & the lighting conditions changes fairly quickly.
I would encourage & challenge you to take as little photo as possible that day. Plan and make all photo counts.
For those with DSLR or other interchangable lens system, bring your prime lens or wide angle lens (kit lens are decent, if u only have them). we will go up-close to our subjects.
I will be doing below 12 shoots with my Holga & below 36 shoots with my digital.
