Is your white balance off? Colours look off and no contrast?

You've shot in AdobeRGB colour mode. In your post processing you need to convert it into sRGB if you want to display on the web. That's why your colours appear dull to others.

initially, NS and moi set the color mode to the 2nd option (cant remember) and the bougainvilla petals came out violet! But when we switched back to A-RGB, it was ok.

So much to learn but so little time to spare......

The D70 has three color modes, Mode Ia and IIIa makes use of the sRGB color space and so images shot in these modes will look correct immediately and can be used as is. Color mode IIIa has been designed for use for nature and landscape shots.

Mode II makes use of the Adobe RGB color space which provides for a wider color gamut but will require conversion to sRGB to display the colors correctly on a computer screen or monitor.

cheers,
bcoolboy

reading & learning is not for me.....at my age, i prefer interactive learning than sitting in 1 corner taking notes.....i feel that learning curve is faster this way.
That's why, we hv to stop buying toys and invest our $$$ on lessons.
We keep buying toys but dunno how to play.....

Who cares, Zorro? Especially because you've been jamming very well with the "kids" here in CS! No one is too old for photography or too old to learn more about the subject!!!! In fact it is one of the most relaxing hobbies you can get into while growing more "mature". The older you get, the more of an expert you become because the older you get the more feeling and emotion you can capture in your photos! Cartier-Bresson was old, so what !

Being old or young is not an excuse not to enjoy the hobbie you have chosen, specially photography. There is too much to learn even for the experts out there.

So just shoot, shoot, shoot!!! And buy, buy, buy!

cheers,
bcoolboy

How about a clue???
Have you collected your CPF??? Maybe from there can estimate your age.
