Glad you like the pics NeoInc, and I must apologise to everyone for the long download of these pics.
I'm not a pro, just one who likes photography very much. And yes, wedding photography is about observation and communication with the couple. All the best in your photo shoot too.

That's a good tip. Thanx megaweb.
Pardon me for asking a question: does this mean that for head shots, I've got to stop the couple, change lens, and then continue? Or you're saying that I don't zoom in enough?

Try to zoom in a bit to 35mm or longer to avoid such distortion Just my 2 cents worth |

Not your two cents, I think it's worth much much more! Thank you.
Yes you're right. I should zoom in more. The reason why I didn't, I think then, it's because the room is really too small for me to move back.

Great work virgo... I like the whole series. If there's anything I could add to help would be on the first image. Not too complimenting on the bride esp with the scar. Another angle perhaps or softening the pic or using DOF on the eye and isolating the rest?

Hi iamasaint,
Thanks much for your input, especially from a pro's eyes! The 'scars' you saw are not scars, they're formed by brushing foundation on the bride's face! Guess the sepia effect has made it looked like scars. Haha... Think I should mask them away... Also, good tip on improving the shot. You shot Kiat Siong in your last assignment? You know, he's my army bunk mate for 1.5 years! Same surname as me too. Tok Kiat Siong right? When did he get married?

Try not to rely too much on photoshop effects such as desaturation and softening to create a good photo. Instead, work on perfecting the shot on the scene itself, play with directional lights, exposure control, silhouettes, etc. This will not only make your workflow less tedious, but will also improve your eye.

Thanx much for the tip to save my eyes thoa_rs.
Yes, you're right. I guess the effects took me too much time to come up with the pics.As for softening, do you suggest to use a soft filter to create the effect? Any other way besides using this and PS, in a lightening speed?

Thanx for the suggestion. Christina's my good friend. I'll show her my work first and if she protests, I'll make the necessary modification.
What'd you guys think, or better to show her the 'best' photos?

some lovely moments you captured there.
I like the kiss #13 Looked through the galleries. Very well documented Did someone tell the bride that that fuzzy hair she wore on the wedding night was ugly? She looks so so much better with straight held back hair ![]() Last edited by FLiNcHY; 2nd November 2004 at 10:17 AM. |
