some of the photos have been USM'ed to death. some out of focus shots too - try not to show them, even though it was hard to get the moment.

ALL Pics MODERATE USM only! Most pics are SHARP out of D70 and 70-200 VR even while I was using 1.4 TC for most and 2.0 TC for some shots. Some pics might be grainny due to ISO 800.

Here's what I see:

1. oversharpened. look at the face.
2. still ok. a tad too loosely cropped.
3. still ok. too loose as well. lacks action/"oomph"
4. no complaints. no definite action though. too loose.
5. please crop before you post - will do you a great justice.
6. action shot, yes, but no real context without a caption.
7. outline of player with ball - somewhat oversharpened look. can crop better with that same player and the one tackling him.
8. fair lot of motion blur. out of focus as well. check with the grass on the pitch to see what i mean.
9. no action.
10. decent enough, but if only the action was shot a little later...
11. crop crop crop!
12. something odd with the colours of the face of player in black.
13. was motion blur intended to be there?
14. crop off the legs on the right.
15. no facial view.
16. too messy, too loose. may have been better if you were shooting sitting on ground level.
17. crop tighter.
18. crop away the chap on the right.

Best shot of the lot is number 7. Your shutter speed is way too slow in some of these. With regards to oversharpening, there is with some of them, but I don't agree with Sehsuan in all cases - for instance I think number 7 is fine. But certainly in terms of action, aside from 7 and 18, the rest could be better.

how come you need to use iso 800? what time did you go? about 4pm is it? I was there at 2 plus and the sun was pretty good. only till 4pm it was getting a bit dark liao...personally like your first pic, very advertisement like except for a bit of motion blur....agree with Jed that your shutter speed might be a bit too slow for it and agree with sehsuan that some tighter cropping would make some pics better. Got any pics showing the players scoring tries?

IMOOO (own opinion only), you've now over-cropped 7 and 18. Haven't looked at the rest.

Hi sehsuan,

Thanks 4 taking the effort to list them. Have read them thru but I do NOT agree with most of the pointers. Nevertheless, its good have your feedback even thought we may not have the same viewpoints.

Appreciate your feedback

Accept 4 the injured boy. U seem to crop out the action as well

No offence, but this tread is already getting messy, appreciate if u could remove the cropped pictures. Thanks
