can i use my teleconverter 1.4x on any lens?

hi friends, just wan to check whether i can use the 1.4x teleconverter on any nikon mount lens,or i can only use it on those lens mentioned in the manual?thanks

Original Nikon teleconvertor or third party ?
Btw, if you use it on a lens smaller with aperture smaller than F4, you will lose AF unless the telelconvertor does not report the correct aperture to your D70.
