Arrow What price per meg you paying?

    Hi,
Just interested to hear what price per meg people are paying around the world for camera memory cards.

Here in Australia : SD cards 34c per meg. All others 50c per meg.

I dare say prices in other parts of Australia may be lower.

So, how are the prices where you are.

I recently bought a 1GB 40X CF card from USA for US$110 (includes delivery) which works out to approximately 11 US cents or 19 SG cents or 15 AU cents per MB.

The 2GB model is even cheaper per MB.

    Cheers,

    Matt

Lexar 1Gb 80x in the USA is now US$69 (US$99 with US$30 rebate).

Australia is a lot more expensive than quite a few places for electronics/computers (just ask all the Singaporeans studying in Australia)

You can get a Sandisk Ultra II 1gb compact flash for about AUD$200 (online for course, from online Australian shop)
If you go to the shop, it's a lot more.

Even if buying locally, a 1 gb Sandisk Extreme is also around S$260, which sums up to around S$0.26 per meg or less.

Yeah, even the 4GB Lexar that used to cost more than some cameras are now going for less than US$400.

And yes, electronics in Auz are very much more expensive than in other countries. I remember back in 2000 when I saw two adverts posted on a board, one of a 15 yr old Volvo and another for a year old PIII 800. The comp was going for $3,500 and the Volvo $2,000. Go figure.

Hi to you all so far,

I will admit I don't go shopping via the net for prices, but it does interest me to know how low prices must be for you guys.
I actually thought our prices were low .... stupid me

I was told of a 1gig SD card coming around Xmas with a reader for $99.
Thought it sounded good...but I think again.

Thanks for your relpies so far.
