Here's an update. Due to very shallow DOF, I still do not have the confidence to run a roll of film through it. Worried that all exposure will come out blur.

I got a PK to eos adapter, and used it on my dslr. The DOF is razor thin, I had a lot of difficulty focusing. It took me a long time get used to it, and I am still making mistakes as I did not use a split screen in my VF. I am coming close to 50 percent keeper On my crop 7D, it comes up to 80mm portrait lens... and imho I will never be able to convince myself (or my wife) to get the 50L. The Pentax 50mm f1.2 is a nice lens to have. A hood (which I am getting) and a 2-4 stop ND filter are required for day shooting.

Today, I tried out the Brenizer Method with this lens wide open. Next project in line is to get a programmable chip onto the adapter to get focus confirmation. Thanks to all those bros out that that give me advice on this lens.

Recently I bought a pentax 50mm n nikon 50 , 35 . All r manual focus. But it find the pentax zoom can rotate so much more than nikon. Seems pentax mf lenses r really superior.

Nikon got good MF lenses too. But I agree w you, to me Pentax manual lenses look and feel better than other brands

A lens in the Pentax philosophy of things.
Smaller than even my Rollei HFT 50/1.8.
Very well built (I have handled the Canon FD 55/1.2 before and the Pentax feels more compact and well made)
Closer focus than most makes 50mm at mfd 45mm.

Haha... I din go for this lens, instead went for the SMC Pentax K 135/2.5, another quite acclaimed lens..

Nice... I still prefer the Bokeh of the Minolta Rokkor 58mm f/1.2. Waiting for mine to arrive.
