Nikon today has unveiled the J1 and the V1, the company's first cameras in the growing mirrorless camera segment. They feature a trim and compact body, 10.1MP CMOS sensor, a 73-point Hybrid AF system that combines both phase and contrast detect autofocus capabilities, tracking autofocus at up to 10fps, 1080p/30fps movie capture (plus reduced-resolution video capture at up to 1200fps) and promised overall performance that emphasizes speed of operation. Accompanying the new cameras are four dedicated lenses in the new 1 Nikkor lens system.
