Thread: For CF card: Delete all or Format ?

Question For CF card: Delete all or Format ?

    Hi all,

Once my CF filled up (after all transferred to PC),
I usually format it from the cam. (much faster than delete all)

Just wondering would it shorten the CF card life (format rather than erase all)?

AFAIK, either formating or erasing, the OS is just remove the data that store at FAT (file allocation table) directory, so new incoming file can use the recycle slot/space.

    Any input from you guys

    Thanks.

I usually format the CF after each transfer to the comp because it removes any hidden files that take up unnecessary space.
