Default Any good replacement for s95?

Nothing wrong with s95, just want to know is there better compact.
Only complaint is that focusing a bit hesitant sometimes.

There may be some compacts that are better for you if focusing speed is your only concern. You can go to the large stores and test the other cameras available.

There are times and places where compact is more suitable.

Well... u might want to test out the Olympus XZ-1, pretty fast and nifty... but if you are used to DSLR focusing speed and reaction... I doubt there is a PnS that is suitable for you. Maybe you would like to try out Fujifilm X100 (or X10 when it is out) or jump to a mirrorless option like the EP3 (which boast to have the fastest focusing speed around - but not sure if this claim is true or not).
I am not a photographer, just someone who happened to have a couple of cameras.

As a father of 2 boys, my hand is full.
No extra hands to take care for another "dslr baby" unless my wife is around.
No intention to sell my FF, and never !

BBB virus ... Just want to get a better backup Pns.

Yes there is... The Olympus XZ-1 is one of them.

The natural replacement would be the S100. The Digic 5 is supposed to be six times faster and the fps has increased from 0.9 to 2.3. So maybe the AF has improved too.

    Pentax Q or m4/3 camera?

Or just try the S95 in MF mode and prefocused to say 2m at 28-35mm equivalent.
The thing should have quite a bit of DOF at that distance to not care about focus.

The Q and m4/3 does have the advantage of easier MF and MF at the ready (after power off) though.
