OMG ... so besides K to Q mount adaptor, there is also an adaptor from 645 MF lens to Q? Or is it a double step down from 645 to K to Q?

    Thanks

I saw the Pentax Q in the shops. As ev everyone says, you really do have to see it to believe it- both the stlye, and the small size. It makes some compact cameras look big.

I think it's the size the 4/3 mirrorless cameras ... should have been in the first place, rather than having a flat body, but still-too-large lenses poking out, making them all look funny.

NEX is not a 4/3 mirrorless camera.

With such a teeny weeny sensor, of course the lenses of the Q are small. If the sensor of the Q is APS-C like in the NEX and Samsung NX cameras, the lenses would be just as big as in those systems. Just imagine how silly the Q would look with such a big lens attached to that small a body.

The NEX has an APS-C sensor in it. Btw do note that the size of the lenses and camera body is partially determined by the sensor size.

Its a double step as there already is a 645>35mm K mount adapter.
    So Q>K>645

Hi Guys, sorry for late update. I've had a very busy week, feel very lazy when I'm home

Anyway, here are a few more photos of the cute Q, its built quality is really good:

The built quality is top notch!

Okay, here are some handson experience w/ the camera so far:

    1. It IS tiny! Yeah, just like some said above, you have to see it to feel how small it is.
    2. The built quality is top notch. You won't be able to find another camera in similar size and built quality. It might not be a Leica, but I think Pentax really put a lot effort in making this thing.
    3. It's small, but it feels very good in hand. Some might claim the camera is too small for a big hand. But for such a tiny camera, you don't need your whole hand to hold it. Just a couple of fingers will do.
    4. It's very easy to operate, easier than you'd think for such a small camera. If you've used Pentax camera before, you probably don't even need to ready the manual. It's just like you are using a Pentax dSLR camera
    5. AF is really fast for a small camera like this, I feel it's faster than my GF1+20/1.7 combo (which is considered to be pretty fast for an EVIL camera)
    6. Focusing is spot on most time, even under complicate light condition
    7. Photos produced by the camera and the kit lens is really really sharp, even wide open.
    8. If shoot in RAW, the dynamic range is pretty good, pretty usable at ISO800 if you get the exposure right. If picture is under exposed, you still can push up the dark area, but definitely need some noise reduction work
    9. White balance is pretty accurate, results look very natural even under very complicate light.
    10. It is indeed a very fun camera to have and play with.

There are quite some reviews on the net already, here is a very good one done by the President of Pentax USA:

I only played the camera for a day, took some random shots. Here I'll post some, mostly taken wide open at F1.9, either in JPG straight out of the camera or RAW converted.

First, a quick test of the BC (background control) feature:

    BC enabled:

    BC disabled:

    The difference is definitely there.

I really like the built-in black and white filter, the results really like those contrasty b&w film photos. Here are a few taken in JPG resized:

In principle it's better to convert to black and white on the computer as there are so many options for fine-tuning. Even so, the contrasty b&w mode of the Pentax looks pretty nice already !
Question: does it have a square image aspect ration setting?
