    My Baby Nephew Patrick

    1. In what area is critique to be sought?
    Child Photography

    2. What one hopes to achieve with the piece of work?
Bring out cuteness & innocent from my work.

    3. Under what circumstance is the picture taken? (physical conditions/emotions)
At my cousin's place, my nephew was trying to figure out what I was doing with a black looking box pointed at him.

    4. What the critique seeker personally thinks of the picture
I feel that I lack some sort of a "Hook" element, in my picture.

Hope fellow clubsnappers can share some tips and pointers i can look out for.
    Thank you all in advance

Will be better if the eye is in focus.
An out of focus eye with expressionless face reminds me of Ju-on.
See this link if you do not know what Ju-on is. http://www.google.com.sg/search?hl=e...w=1366&bih=655

Focus is off bro. For a closeup portrait like this, you need the picture to be sharp where it is supposed to be.

I have no issues with the lack of expression here. The main problem, as everyone has mentioned so far, is that the focus is off in a bad way. At least the eyes should be in focus, they are the windows to the soul.

On composition, I thought the hand here was distracting. I would leave it out of the equation, possibly by going closer. I must say that the sepia processing here doesn't quite do the trick for me, just a simple solemn black and white would be fine.

Chubby!!! Let's see how we can improve on this photo...

    - Try not to crop off subjects limbs and other body parts too easily during shooting. Take near full body and then try cropping later.

    OR

    - Can go take really close up photos of Patrick to make him look astonish or curious. Through joyful and curiosity; only then can bring more innocent.

    Happy taking with Patrick
