    Try:

    http://www.fredmiranda.com/reviews/
    http://www.photozone.de/2Equipment/easytxt.htm

googling the lens you're looking for will usually yield quite a few reviews on the web

depends on your range and shooting conditions. If you're looking for a mid-range telephoto zoom in low-light conditions, can consider a Sigma 70-200mm f2.8. Otherwise, can also consider the Canon 70-200 f4L. Both are in the $1K+ range

What range was the good question.

I have the kit 18-55, therefore something about 55 - 300 range would do.

What I really want to do with the lens ? Wildlife, close up (not macro), and dramatic composition....

Other than the Sigma, which I can imagine like a bazooka at 2.8... and the white elephant.... what other choices are available ?
