Default Wedding Photographer Needed in Idaho

Greetings, I'm having a wedding in June of 2005 and I'm about to start calling the local shops for rates. I figured I'd hit the forums up first to see if anyone is in the area and interested.

I'm in Coeur d'Alene Idaho, near Spokane, Washington. Interested in hi res digital and I'd like to get the original files afterward.

Please reply to this thread if you're interested, then we can talk.

Thanks!

Hey thanks a lot man! Yeah, we'll see if I don't wanna smother her by next summer... We never knew it would be this much of a pain to book everything and keep everyone happy. She's pressuring me to book a photographer, so I thought I'd get it out of the way so she can relax! :P

Thanks again!

congrats on your wedding.

i hope you realise that if you're searching out for a photographer from overseas, you're gonna have to pay for the airfare, food and lodging of the photographer, excluding self-expenses...

What's wrong with that?

Atlanta's only 6 hrs away by car.

Its not 5000 miles away on the other side of the world.

Well, I was hoping I could find someone that was fairly local and actually save money compared to some of the shops around here... but I'm finding out that most of the people that post here are not from the US, let alone Idaho or Eastern Washington, hehe.

So, yes to clarify... I'm looking for a local photographer (a shot in the dark, I know...but worth a shot). I'd rather not pay for travel time, and certainly not airfare, hehe.

Hopefully you're out there!

Thank you all for your congratulations. She's a keeper, so I'm sure we'll get through the pains of the wedding planning just fine, hehe.

Idaho man, not Iowa I'm well over 1,000 miles away. I'm only a few hours from the West coast.

ermm... darkkon.... mebbe i'm stating the obvious here.

but clubsnap is Singapore-based forum board - ie. most photographers participating in this forum are mainly from singapore. and singapore IS on the other side of the world, specifically on the other side of the pacific ocean. ie- if u want to hire anyone locally, u have to fly them over, and provide food and lodging.

Hey, Dakkon, congratulation big guy!! You are changing your life, for the better (believe it, against all evidence to the contrary).

Best wishes from Singapore...

try fredmiranda.com

a lot of members seem to be on the west. not sure about wedding photographers though.

But landscape photographers are all from the west. they are constantly shooting at yellowstone and the grand tetons.

haha

Congratulations. Cd'A's a nice place, and I am sure you'll get great shots there.
My experience with US-based wedding photographers are that they are very expensive (relative to Singapore's), they don't give extras, and getting your hands on the royalties are another problem, not to mention the delivert of the final product.
Because my brother lives in the US, and is getting married back here in Singapore soon, his initial informal research showed that, for the same output, it's actually cheaper to get a photographer from Singapore, fly him there during off-peak season when you get cheaper fares, shoot for a couple of days (Cd'A budget accomodation isn't that expensive), then fly back.
Because this would add to the photographer's overseas portfolio, you can either negotiate for a cheaper shoot package rate, or get more shots/prints/enlargements out of it.
Good luck!
