    You could a) google about focusing in low light, and b) open a new thread if you think your problem is unique (which is unlikely as the Google results will tell you. But it's not polite to crash into other people's thread with your own topics and questions.
    It's not the lens that is focusing, it's the camera and the AF system inside the body. The lens just gets commands like "turn this way 3.5 degree" ..

    18-55mm is probably the best lens for you to start with. Remember... you control the gears and not the gears control you! Start shooting and share your pictures with us!

    Just to give u some encouragement:

    My photo was shortlisted for an exhibition showcase, among other photos from other photographers who used all sorts of lens.

    And mine was only a 18-55 mm, kit lens. I didn't even do PP on the photo

    So the thing is that it's not the lens. It's the user.....
