Exclamation Cannot login CS ~ Windows 7

    Good morning,

I just got myself a new laptop running on Windows 7 Home Premium.

When I try to login to CS, it will display the usual message 'Thank you for logging in ... but I am not actually logged-in; the log-in field (id/psw) on the top right is still blank'.

Is there any settings I need to do on Windows 7?

P.S. I am now logged in using my old notebook (XP).

    Thank you.

Are you using firefox or some browser other than IE? Try using IE to login.

I think is the Browser and not Windows 7. My guess is your current settings does not allow cookies to be stored.

Sorry for the late reply 'cos I have to now and then use another laptop to login.

    I am using IE9 on Windows 7.

No add-ons... and as for internet options, I always checked 'delete history on exit', set 'history' to zero, the rest should be default.

Thing is, for these same IE settings since I bought this new notebook, I have no problem signing in to hotmail, yahoo mail, etc.

Just that for CS, it shows me the 'welcome message; ie, thank you for logging in... and then when it refreshes back to the homepage, my status is still 'not loged in'.

to add: did u check the 'accept cookies from websites option'

Some members have experienced issues staying logged in and we have reset the site cookie settings. If you are still having issues, please clear your cache/cookies and restart your browser. a brief recommendation by e admin

There is another thing you can try....but it will cause you alot of irritations. And that is clear all cookies, password, cache, history etc (meaning, click the "Delete Browsing History" and check all boxes) and restart computer.

But before doing that, make sure your internet options settings in IE9 is the same as your Windows XP's IE's settings.

Yes. I always delete all cache, cookies, forms, passwords, etc and my settings are same as on xp.

    Still not good.

As to my Windows 7, I checked the 'properties' and yes, it shows '64-bit operating system'.

What's that... is that different from XP, Vista... is that a liability...

Try using another browser with default settings; I'm running Windows 7 also and using Firefox, it works fine for me.

If you can log in with another browser on same computer, this would indicate where the problem is, probably will be browser settings, if you get what I mean.

    It is very strange.

Now, I'm back using my new laptop; IE 9 on Win 7 64-bit.

Currently, I am logged in. However, when it refreshes to the main forum page, it 'does not show that I am logged-in'; ie, the top right still hs the empty boxes to fill in one's ID & PSW.

HOWEVER, (now this is random or so I think at this point) when I click into say this KOPITIAM thread, I can see that I'm logged in (with the welcome 'my ID) at the top. At other times, say for e.g., I click into another thread, say a GATHERINGS, it does not show that I am logged-in BUT I know that I am logged-in only upon trying to REPLY to a thread.

Strange... this notebook is only 2 days old... done a virus, spyware check and am sure it's clean... but behaving strangely.

But I only have this problem thus far on CS; no problem on email accounts (gmail, hotmail, yahoo) or other forums (e.g. Nature Society, dpreview, etc)

Bro, my favt ans to users using IE..."Because it's Micro$oft ".

Time to change browser. Chrome and Firefox are good options. I have tried many browsers and personally, I still like Chrome and Firefox. Opera & Safari is not my type, but if you are interested, you can give it a try.
