Default From Zoom to Prime

I am currently using 17-40L F4, 70-200L F4 and 50 F1.8 on 300D. I found myself like to shoot with the tele lens more. However, 70-200L is not long enough sometimes, and adding 1.4x TC will further reduce the f stop. So, I am thinking to get 300mm F4 IS to replace 70-200. Meanwhile, there's a huge gap between 50 to 300, I am thinking to buy 135 F2 to fill the space. May consider to buy 85 F1.8, but should be at later stage.

Would like to hear your comments about these 2 lens, and what's the price (both new and secondhand). Thanks!

The 300mm f4L IS USM is good! Three thumbs up for this lens! As for the others you have to get other people's comments.

The 300/4 IS is a sweet piece of glass. Great as a travel lens because of its light weight. Some shots taken recently... the first one with the 1.4x TC.

have already done that. No regrets going the prime route-in terms of mid tele and tele. the 135mm f2 is a phenemonal piece of glass.

if you read my plans...i was considering what you were doing... and yea i went ahead with it..i figured for wide-angle-an apeture of f4 is good enough for me as i'll probably use it for group shots and a daily walk around lens. so i went for the 2 fast primes for low light situations. so far...so good. at least for the 135mm...

If you're looking for a zoom and don't mind 3rd party lenses, I've got a Sigma 100-300/F4 to go. Can PM me if you're interested
