whenever i take pictures of my girl using the built-in flash, her eyes are always closed. im using a D70.
How to remedy this??? Thanks |

haiya.. ... just set your cam to Continous shoot and fired off 2-3 shot and then later choose the best photo out loh..

try to use other flash setting and see, like Rear-Curtain Sync (shutter open b4 the flash).... I never own D70, this is just my thought.. do correct me if i am wrong ![]() Last edited by sam_always; 29th September 2004 at 12:01 AM. |

hey....u wanna try count 1,2 then press the shutter....dun wait for 3.....i hav been using this for years....works all the time....she will brink again on the count of no.3.....

using an SB800 with the extra battery will shorten the cycle time. and you may also need to ensure you're not firing at full power. |

How about try bouncing the flash towards the ceiling? That will cut down the glare to the subject substantially. Gives a more natural feel too.
Another way is to wrap a piece of paper to cover the flash. It'll cut down flash "power" (but if short enough distance should be ok), but will diffuse it such that it is not too glaring. |

I don't bother counting sometimes, just say "smile", then click. Seems to work better than counting.

how old is she? try asking your girl to look at the lens instead. she may know that the light is gonna flash, and instinctively look towards the flash each time... |

If she's old enough to understand "don't blink", then just try that. It may work.
Or you can try shooting without flash - bump up the ISO and consider getting a cheap fast prime lens. (50/1.8?) Or just shoot outdoors more often, when there's enough light. |
