Would like to find out from u all, besides using the PhotoStitch software supplied by Canon, is there any other softwares that we can use to stitch up our panoramic shots? ![]() |

Photostitch does not work that well esp when you are trying to match diverging/converging verticals. OK for beach scenes but terrible for buildings where the stitch becomes very obvious.

Canon PhotoStitch seems to work alright, but if you're after other software, some include Ulead Cool 360, PTAssembler and Panorama Factory

A bit difficult to align camera properly when you are at ground level trying to take a widish shot of a building that is 4 storeys high and you can't go further back - agree if the camera is pointing perfectly horizontally, Photostitch works ok.

Another software is call RealViz. Very interesting way to stitching. (Not as easy to us as PhotoStitch)

Maybe u can use P-mode 1st to let the camera decide the setting(shuttle & aperture), note it down & repeat it on the manual mode. Hence, every shots will have the same exposure. Hope this helps. |

Beyondgal,
when you take multiple shots for pano stitching, it is recommended not to use auto camera mode. Try to meter the main scene and take note of the meter values. Switch to M mode and use the same meter values for all shots. You got to do it fast as lighting may change anytime. |

The best one I've found that allows BOTH amazing control AND fully automatic mode with contrast and color fixing even, is Hugin.
It's open-source, free, and cross-platform. http://hugin.sourceforge.net/ |
