Sharp is because i sized it down and used USM. Else if the pic is blur (100%), it wouldn't do any good even if you USM time after time after time, then you get halos.
I think a good way of assessing whether or not the bird is in focus is to look at the pupils when you zoomed in to 100% or camera LCD. |

And it doesn't help that the subjects have very detailed naunces all over the body.
