Default Nikon Lens Complatible with DSLR

Hi everyone :

I'm currently considering picking up Digital Photography and am considering getting a D70. Anyone can advise me on which Nikon lens are compatible with the DSLR? Thanks.

All old and current Nikkor AF lenses are compatible with the D70.

But not all lenses are fully compatible to make use of some of the DSLR features, right? Like the D vs G lens. I understand some of the features in the DSLR are not usable with a G len - correct me if I'm wrong.

SzennyBoy - it is good that you started this thread. Think a number of newbies will benefit from it. Anyway, I don't know if it is useful to breakdown between D70, D100, etc, since different DSLR should have different features...

Urm... DSLRs will fully be able to utilise G lenses, it's the older MF cameras that will not be able to use the G lenses because there is no aperture ring to control.

Also, I believe all F-mount are usable, just that with the older AI-S lenses you might lose metering/auto-focusing with the exception of some DSLRs.

I see.... thanks for clarifying my misunderstanding.
